Literacy Activities
Rhyme Time: Caregiver states a word and student finds a sensical rhyming word, grade level appropriate. Discuss vocabulary of each word. Continue as long as interested
Blend Mover: Use preprinted and laminated game sent home by teacher to play with student. Use the cards to move letters and create a new word.
Read for reward: As the student reads in a quiet location, listen uninteruptedly. Offer praise as a reward to create confidence. Offer help as needed for mastery.
